Missing Lexington man found safe

LEXINGTON, S.C. — A man reported missing in Lexington has been found safe, according to Lexington police.

Lexington police announced the update shortly before 2 p.m. on Facebook, saying, "Mr. Michael Collins has been found and is safe. Thank you to the Town of Lexington community for your prayers, positive thoughts, and information pertaining to this investigation."

Police had said 70-year-old Michael Kirk Collins left his Waverly Court home in Lexington between 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 in a 2006 Red Ford F-150 extended cab.

Collins said that he was going to the Dollar General at 202 US-378 in Lexington an has not returned home. He reportedly has a daily routine, and his not returning home was considered 'highly out of character.'
