HOLLY HILL, S.C. — The Town of Holly Hill has issued a boil water advisory for all residents until further notice.
The town urged residents to boil water for at least one minute before drinking, cooking or preparing food, washing it, brushing their teeth or making ice. Otherwise, they should use bottled water.
While the latest notice didn't specify the advisory's reason, it came minutes after the town announced it had begun restoring water service following a leak on Peake Street that forced water to be cut off around 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
Holly Hill said the boil water advisory was a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the water supply. Typically, these advisories remain in effect until a water sample test shows the water is uncontaminated.
