COLUMBIA, S.C. — If it isn't already loud enough at Colonial Life Arena during a South Carolina women's basketball game, here's something that will turn the dial way past acceptable limits: ESPN's College GameDay Covered by State Farm has announced their first-of-five on-campus visits will be in Columbia on Jan. 23.

That's when Coach Dawn Staley's No. 2 Gamecocks take on No. 5 LSU Tigers.

The one-hour GameDay program will air at 7 p.m. on ESPN before the televised rivalry game.

According to ESPN, this will be South Carolina's third time playing host to GameDay, the most of any school. Elle Duncan will host the program with game analysts Andraya Carter and Chiney Ogwumike.

A new student giveaway, the State Farm Shot Challenge, will be a highlight during the game. One student will be selected to compete for the chance to win $19,000 by making four shots—a layup from the right and left sides of the basket, a free throw and a three-point shot—within 19 seconds.

South Carolina has ticket packages available through Forever Garnet Memories for the 8 p.m. home game at Colonial Life Arena, starting with photo opportunities with Cocky and videoboard messaging.

The Gamecocks and the Tigers have met three times—in 2006, 2021, and 2024—with South Carolina winning all three close games by a margin of six points.
