Irmo wide receive is staying home, commits to South Carolina

Four-star prospect Donovan Murph, who has been pegged as a Gamecock pledge, announced his decision in Orlando at the Under Armour All-America Game.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Irmo wide receiver Donovan Murph has given South Carolina a six-pack of playmakers for the Class of 2025.

The four-star prospect publicly committed to the Gamecock program Thursday afternoon just before kickoff in the Under Armour All-America Game in Deland, Florida.

He reclassified for the Class of 2025 and becomes the sixth wide receiver to join South Carolina for this year's class. Of those six wide receivers set to arrive in 2025, Murph becomes the fourth in-state receiver and second from the Midlands, following Jordan Gidron from Ridge View.

Murph was one of the big-time playmakers who helped Irmo advance to the Class 4A state championship game, where the Yellow Jackets lost a hard-fought game to Northwestern. Murph recorded 96 receptions for 1,328 yards and 12 touchdowns for the season. In that state championship game, Murph caught eight passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns.

The cousin of former Gamecock and NFL wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, Murph currently gives South Carolina 26 members comprising its Class of 2025. USC is now ranked 18th nationally by 247 Sports in its latest recruiting ranking.
